in may/june of 1992, deloris telescope traveled to st. thomas, u.s. virgin islands, for an extended nightclub engagement. during that time, this tape was assembled from sessions recorded at the band house (hull bay).
all songs were recorded direct-to-cassette on a fostex x-28 4-track machine. no amps were used. instruments and vocals were routed through various foot-triggered effects pedals. drums were programmed on a boss 'dr.rhythm' unit.
the sound quality is not state-of-the-art!! audio-fidelity was not our main concern. rather, we attempted to construct a musical postcard of sorts. our hope was to capture some aspects of the islands, and our experiences there, on tape.
originally, we intended to re-record some of these songs upon returning to the states. however, we ultimately decided to release them in their imperfect state...as they were recorded in our living room at the band house, overlooking the brass cay islands, and the ocean beyond.
the following songlist gives a brief explanation of each selection and notes the individual contributions involved. we will never forget our time spent in the virgin islands.....hope you enjoy this "ting"!
